The Role: Responsible for growth and expansion of direct sales and profit margins within assigned accounts and/or territory/region on products or services. Establishes professional relationships with key personnel in customer accounts. Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and margin dollars. Your key responsibilities will include, and not limited to: - Manage direct sales of all Leica Biosystems products for the clinical, research and industrial markets. - To meet and exceed sales targets for these products in the defined sales region. - Provide accurate weekly / monthly sales forecasts of expected orders in the region. - Provide high-level customer service and customer satisfaction for the defined product range and customer base. - Tender management, quotation creation. - Seek new opportunities to grow the Leica Biosystems business. - Responsible for co-ordinating customer demonstrations, installations and training with the customer, Product Specialists and Field Service Engineers. - Operate in accordance with Danaher and Leica Biosystems compliance expectations. Sales Performance and Marketing - Establish positive relationships with all external and internal customers. - Understand the customer and market dynamics, especially with regard to the development and introduction of new pathology trends and technologies. - Actively prospect to uncover and development sales opportunities. - Achieve the agreed calendar / financial year product sales target set for the region. - Achieve the margin targets for each product group sold in the defined region. - Achieve the agreed service revenue target set for the defined region. - Attend and participate in trade shows and marketing activities (including weekends if required). - Contribute strongly to the achievement of overall sales targets for ANZ. - Management of local expenses. - Providing accurate expense reports with receipts on a monthly basis. - Monitor competitor activities and provide feedback to the Sales Team. Forecasting - Provide accurate Weekly and Monthly (or as requested) order forecast for the region for management reporting. - Development of annual sales and expense target for the sales territory. - Ensure pipeline / opportunity data are appropriately staged and up to date for accurate forecasting. CRM Management - Ensure the integrity of market and customer data in SalesForce.com is accurate and representative of the current customer base. - Development of an annual business plan for the defined Sales territory. - Assist the Marketing Team with the co-ordination of industry conferences and exhibitions that the Selling Unit will be attending in the region. - Planning Proactive Customer Visits for Sales activities. - Assist and liaise with Leica Biosystems Channel Partners as required. Demonstrations, Installations & Training - Undertake product training: demonstrate appropriate product knowledge and the ability to confidently perform product demonstrations to a wide audience. - Coordinate product demonstrations, installations and training with the customer, Applications and Service teams as required. - Ensure Goods on Loan and other compliance forms are provided in a timely manner. Customer Management & Satisfaction - Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through delivery of best sales and support assistance. - Provide Business Case creation support to internal and external customers. - Assist with stocktake / cycle count activities as required. Travel 25% - The role will require travel from time to time within ANZ, overnight travel is estimated to be 20%. - The role may require infrequent international travel. - Driver's Licence and own car. To be successful in this opportunity, a prior experience in the following criteria would be required: - Sales / work experience in the Pathology and / or Life Science fields. - Energetic, motivated and able to show initiative. - Outstanding negotiating skills. - Proficient with software programs including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, Outlook, SalesForce.com - Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, sometimes with conflicting deadlines. - Resilience under pressure. - Well-developed problem-solving skills. - Demonstration of the ability to work independently and within a high-performance team. - Highly analytical and capable of analysing financial data. - Excellent communication, presentation, and written skills. - Attention to detail with reporting. - Unquestionable Ethics and Integrity. Highly Desirable: Scientific degree (preferably medical laboratory / anatomic pathology) with postgraduate business qualifications.
