An exciting opportunity has become available for a creative and passionate Admin Assistant to join our Arts Department from 2024. THE COLLEGE Moreton Bay College was established in 1901 as a school for girls from PP-12 and now supports an enrolment in excess of 1100 students. Governed by a single Board and led by a single CEO and Executive Principal, each school retains its single gender focus and its own personality and attributes. THE POSITION The Administration Assistant – The Arts will play a crucial role in assisting the Head of Department, the Director and Dance and Drama and staff of The Arts Department, to support the curricular and co-curricular programs at Moreton Bay College commencing January 2024. The successful applicant will work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues, as well as the broader school community. In addition to being detail-oriented and organized, we are looking for a candidate who is willing to be very hands-on with tasks such as organizing costumes and prop rooms. The Administration Assistant – Performing Arts is responsible in the first instance to the Head of Department – The Arts and ultimately to the Principal. All staff are employed by the CEO and Executive Principal. All staff need to be supportive of the values, Christian ethos and Ethical Statement of this Uniting Church Day school for girls from Kindy to Year 12. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES It is expected that the Administration Assistant will assist The Arts Department: with a wide range of administrative and practical support. with administration tasks such as updating information in the Student Administration Systems (TASS), producing rolls, assisting teaching staff with risk assessments and excursions/incursions. with planning and organisation of events, including ticketing, liaising with relevant staff of tasks such as marketing and venue bookings. with maintenance, sorting and storage of costumes and facilitating parent helpers to assist with this. to actively contribute to a safety citizenship culture upholding health and safety policies, procedures, hazard reporting and safe work practices. SKILLS AND ABILITIES The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Ability to work within a team. Ability to communicate effectively. Excellent organisational skills. Ability to work autonomously and operate as a resourceful team member in a collaborative inclusive manner. Efficient and effective time management skills. Ability to demonstrate IT competency in office software, and to learn to use department specific platforms. Ability to sew would be highly desirable. Actively contribute to a safety citizenship culture upholding health and safety policies, procedures, hazard reporting and safe work practices. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Certificate III or IV in Administration or similar would be desirable.
