Specialist Mechanical Engineer Date: 30 Oct 2023 Location: Perth, AU 5/2 roster based in Perth head office Multiple Benefits for all employees applicable to all facets of their life Performance, Retention and Profit Share Bonuses Be part of a technologically advanced mine site About the role: The Civil and Mechanical Engineering team is currently seeking a Specialist Mechanical Engineer to join them on a 5/2 Monday to Friday roster based at Perth remote operations centre (ROC). Reporting to the Manager Engineering Civil and Mechanical, you will be responsible for providing engineering expertise to the broader Asset Management and Operations Teams. The primary purpose of the Specialist Mechanical Engineer is to support Roy Hill to meet its business targets through providing: Mechanical engineering support across Mine and Port operations Mechanical engineering input to Roy Hill projects Identification of improvement opportunities Governance of Engineering Projects to drive optimum outcomes Duties: Take accountability for the solution of significant mechanical engineering issues Develop and maintain a network of external mechanical engineering expertise Undertake appropriate Risk Management in all related engineering and project activities Support / develop strategic initiatives within engineering team while maintaining quality standards and specifications for the Roy Hill operations Responsible for engineering activities and technical expertise for bulk material handling Development of the reliability engineer technical knowledge and experience Improvement of Roy Hill programs, reporting, and tracking systems Skills and Experience: Extensive experience in mining industry Experience in Engineering Design, Materials Handling Projects and Improvements Sound understanding of fixed plant assets in mine and port environment Advanced problem-solving skills with the logical and practical approach Excellent stakeholder negotiation and management skills Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to key stakeholders Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with min 10 years of experience Perth ROC Facilities: Free on-site parking at remote operational centre (ROC) Modern spacious office with break-out facilities In-house café providing variety of hot & cold food options and barista coffee Flexi Leave available to all Perth based office staff Flexible working hours outside of core business hours Active social club with community events and activities for employees Lifestyle, Learning and Recreation initiative which provide events for your family About the Company: Roy Hill is a world class mining company, leading the way through innovative, integrated mining rail and port operations, to export iron ore safely and efficiently from West Australia's Pilbara region.
