The Workers Sports Club located on Reservoir Road in Prospect sits on a 55 acre land holding and is one of the largest privately owned sporting facilities in Australasia featuring many sports fields, tennis & netball courts, baseball diamond, amenities and three lawn bowling greens. The Workers Hubertus Country Club is located in Luddenham in Sydney’s southwest growth corridor. The Club is situated on 25 acres of land and is directly adjacent to the Badgerys Creek International Airport, Sydney’s long awaited second international facility. Workers Lifestyle Group is renowned in western Sydney for being the "Best in the West" and currently has a vacancy for a positive and focused Event Coordinator to join our highly motivated and driven team. About the role This role reports directly to the Executive Chef and is responsible for function and event sales, promote return business and future growth of WLG events. The role is a mixture of administrative and operational working across a variety of days Monday to Sunday. Duties and Responsibilities Interaction with marketing and promotions to attract more events Dealing with event enquiries and providing quotes Coordination of events with the event organisers. Liaise with clients regarding their functions/event and needs. Execution of the functions/events, including decoration, running sheets, meet and greet clients, end of function including tidy up and settlement and debriefs Follow up of each function, including confirming with clients that the function met their requirements, seeking testimonials, and seeking feedback for improvement. Assist management with the booking and coordination of entertainment, events (such as Melbourne Cup Day) and promotions. Support Management in executing standard operating procedures. Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business. Supervise and manage all direct reports to a very high standard. Team briefings Maintain safety, security, and cleanliness standards at all times. Support the management of key risk and potential risk areas of the business. This includes the management of cashflow, finance and governance requirements, Workplace Health and Safety, intellectual property, and public liability protection. Support all on the job training across the events department. Any other duties as requested by Senior Management, that are of a fair and reasonable nature. To be successful applicants must Certificate III / Diploma in Hospitality / Events NSW RSA competency (essential) Food Safety Certificate (or willing to obtain) Provide First Aid certificate (or willing to obtain) 2 years event experience supervising and leading a large amount of people. Experience in using windows-based applications including word, excel and outlook systems. Knowledge and understanding of the Blacktown Workers Club Enterprise Agreement (training provided) Self motivated, team player Excellent presentation Outstanding front of house skills, eye for detail and creative flare Ability to speak, read and understand clear, concise and fluent English - confident communicator Ability to write reports and correspondence with attention to detail. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations. Ability to manage difficult conversations.
