Casual Social Workers Acute or sub-acute hospital, Grade 2 Be part of the supportive and dedicated Social Work team at City campus Enjoy the flexibility of casual shifts with exposure to varied clinical areas Previous hospital experience is required This position will provide the successful applicant with opportunities to showcase their experience working in a well-supported multi-disciplinary team environment with a wide variety of acute surgical and medical patients. This role involves the provision of Social Work service and will be a very valued member of our supportive team. The Social Work team consists of over 40 staff members who work across the City and Royal Park Campuses in acute, sub-acute and community based services across a range of specialties. Please specify your preferred shifts (weekday and/or weekend) and typical availability (e.g. two weekday shifts/week, two weekend shifts/month, available a late notice etc.) in your application. Casual social workers are expected to be available for shifts at least once every three months. Your new role Complete psychosocial assessments and provide emotional support and counselling to patients and their families and/or carers in the acute hospital wards You will be supported by senior clinicians (grade 3) and clinical lead (grade 4) on site Bimonthly team meetings for casual staff (virtual) to support you in your role and connect you with the team Be part of and contribute to a dynamic and progressive Social Work team Foster positive team and workplace culture as a grade 2 clinician About you You are a qualified Social Worker (either current member or current eligibility for AASW) with work experience as a hospital Social Worker You are an adaptable quick learner with proven ability to work autonomously in hospital environments You are able to deliver excellent consumer focussed clinical care to patients and their carers You have the experience and skills to mentor and supervise junior staff and students Benefits of working at the Royal Melbourne Hospital Supportive team with opportunities for career progression and varied clinical exposure Close proximity to excellent cafes and eateries and the University of Melbourne You will enjoy excellent work-life balance.
