Job description We've partnered with a growing Australian consultancy Their newest offices in Queensland are looking for an experienced Hydrologist, Flood Modeller or General Water Resources Engineer to take charge on their upcoming water projects along the east coast of the country.My client is an employee-owned engineering consultancy, with a global team of 800 people across different sectors in different countries. The business's Water team are responsible for providing technical advice for flood management and waterways design for engineering projects in the infrastructure and resources markets. With the continued growth and the award of many exciting new projects, I am calling Senior to Principal level Water Engineers to lead up their current team moving forward, you will report to other Regional Water Leads and be responsible for the technical leadership and design associated with flood management for major road, rail, mining, and land/urban development projects. Experienced Flood Modellers and Hydrologists will also be considered. Flood modelling, mapping and report writing for a range of water and civil engineering projects. Hydraulic design of waterway infrastructure such as bridges, culverts, levees, diversion drains etc including scour protection measures. Design coordination with wider project teams and other disciplines. Mentoring of junior engineers and detailed review of technical work by others. Preparation of submissions for water related projects and input for multidisciplinary projects. Monitoring and management of project budgets and deliverables. Communicating with clients and other project stakeholders. What you need to be considered: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil/Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science. 10 to 12 years relevant experience. Technical understanding of the principles and approaches of ARR2019 and relevant industry guidelines and legislation. Practical experience in cross-drainage design, flood mitigation and management for major engineering projects in Australia. Proficient use & advanced understanding of the following software packages: including RORB, XP-RAFTS, URBS, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS. Experience using 12d and DRAINS will also be highly considered. Existing relationships with relevant state authorities and stakeholders. Strong project management and report writing skills.
