Acting - Engineering and Commissioning Manager 14 Oct 2023 Perth, WA, AU, 6000 About the role: Reporting to the Executive General Manager Projects, this acting position has become available due to an internal movement. This role will be responsible for leading the Engineering and Commissioning function, including all people, process, systems, and governance capability across the HanRoy portfolio. As the successful applicant you will develop, deliver and continuously improve the engineering and commissioning framework within HanRoy, including governance, workforce planning, processes and procedures. Key duties: Develop fit for purpose, effective engineering, commissioning and handover management processes, management plans, rules, tools and governance to support project delivery. Manage overall quality, timeliness, accuracy and consistency in engineering, commissioning and handover approach to sustaining capital and future growth projects across the HanRoy business. Ensure engineering, commissioning and handover approaches are consistent, cost-effective and appropriate for project size, complexity, risk profile and contracting strategy. Drive Safety in Design (SID) engineering, operability, and constructability across all projects. Establish and oversee a centralised Approving Authority to be the custodian of engineering specifications and technical requirements. Manage functional reporting line responsibilities in relation to resources embedded in project teams. Establish and maintain processes to assure project compliance to HanRoy's engineering, technical specifications, commissioning and handover management plans, contractor requirements and guidelines. Liaise closely with technical services and engineering teams within Hancock Prospecting, Roy Hill Holdings and Atlas to ensure HanRoy engineering, commissioning and handover activities are integrated to the project requirements and specifications. Maintain connection to key external engineering and commissioning standards and legislative changes to ensure that HanRoy engineering and commissioning activities remain compliant. Establish appropriate requirements, training and review to ensure that tender packs and contract requirements are adequate in terms of engineering, commissioning and associated reporting to support contract management and close out. Act as the communications conduit to executive sponsors and program steering committee. To be successful in this role, you will have: Extensive engineering and commissioning experience in the resources sector, including both "greenfield" and "brownfield" mine and infrastructure development. 15 years of relevant experience in similar roles is mandatory. Tertiary qualification in relevant Engineering (recognised in Australia).
