Daisy Milano is a high grade, narrow vein gold mine, with over 1 million ounces mined in more than 20 years of operation, and a rolling 2-year mine life. With multiple operational mining fronts, Daisy continues to surpass expectations as the flagship mine of the Mount Monger Operations. Daisy boasts structurally complex quartz-hosted mineralisation, including numerous occurrences of visible Gold, presenting a unique challenge within an unusual deposit. Ore drives are mined using long hole stoping and airleg mining methods. THE ROLE: We are looking for an adaptable and team-oriented Mining Engineer to play an integral part in the ongoing success of the Daisy operation, due to an internal transfer to our Open Pit operations, commencing shortly. Your key responsibility will be to develop optimised stope notes, drill and blast designs, short term schedules, and assist with mine ventilation management. You will be mentored and developed with the opportunity to take on more responsibility over time, with plenty of opportunity to grow. Your role will include: Development and implementation of Drill and Blast designs Develop, maintain and update the short and medium term plans and schedules Provide support to ensure compliance with legislative and statutory requirements, as well as company environmental and safety standards; Undertake primary and secondary ventilation surveys Work closely with the Underground Contractor to implement the mine plan; Contribute to the development and implementation of weekly, monthly and quarterly mine plans Complete mine projects as required Prepare weekly and monthly production reports Undertake regular inspections and auditing of contractor activities ABOUT YOU: You are a self-motivated, proactive person who thrives in a dynamic small team environment. You will be able to react quickly to changes to ensure production output targets are achieved and continuity of production is maintained. You can manage multiple demands on your time with a calm and considered manner and have excellent interpersonal skills. You can also have: Formal tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or related discipline Previous experience in underground mining, with narrow vein Gold experience an advantage Proficient use of MS Office suite and relevant mining software, including Datamine, EPS and Ventsim Working knowledge and understanding of the WA Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations Partial or full completion of Underground time toward your FCMM Certificate would be preferred Good understanding of mine ventilation systems and associated statutory requirements Understanding of geotechnical issues and operational infrastructure requirements in underground environments Current WA “C” Class Driver’s License Current ‘Apply First Aid’ Certificate The role is offered on an 8:6 FIFO roster back-to-back with another Mining Engineer, enjoying the variety of a technically challenging and diverse role.
