We are seeking a professional, customer-driven, and pro-active Senior Medical Receptionist to work with our partner Health Service Organisation based on the NSW South Coast. The role can be based at one of a number of healthcare settings across the region. The role The Senior Medical Receptionist will perform a range of administrative and reception duties to support the activities of the health service and provide administrative support to all healthcare staff. This position requires someone with leadership qualities and someone who is compassionate and empathetic towards all patients. As a Senior Medical Receptionist, some of your main responsibilities will include: Providing administrative support as required ie scheduling appointments, managing the appointment book, arrange weekly meetings and handling of any changes or cancellations. Efficiently managing patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accurate and up-to-date patient information. Being the point of contact to handle phone enquiries, address patient concerns, and relay messages to appropriate medical staff. Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other staff members to facilitate a smooth patient flow. Maintain a clean, positive, and inviting work environment and coordinate the clinic as required. Ensure an effective patient transport service is delivered and provide support to GPs at all times; and Provide support, training and mentorship to junior receptionists. Experience Required Minimum 3-5 years previous experience in a medical practice is preferred or similar experience within the medical industry. Extensive knowledge of practice administration within a medical general practice setting with the inclusion of understanding medical terminology. Good understanding of the Medicare system and reporting processes, including private billing and Medicare claims and explaining billing procedures to patients when necessary. Experience dealing with complex patient requirements. Proficiency in using a medical practice management software. Experience running a practice or team highly regarded; and Demonstrated knowledge of chronic disease prevention and management cycle of care is highly regarded. Please note that a clean drivers licence, Working with Children Check, Police Check and NDIS check are required for this role. Other checks may be required as part of the pre-employment process.
