You will be working on advanced sensor technology that is used on a range of critical infrastructure monitoring solutions. Working with a range of Vision AI applications your projects will be detail orientated. The software you are working on is shaping the industry, there is nothing quite like it in the market. What does the business look like? They are an UK business working on a advanced AI analysis platform that is used to monitor critical infrastructure and provide . Their software engineering team is based in Melbourne and employ over a dozen C++ software engineers and a couple of ML and AI specialists. They are a well financially, they just received Series A funding earlier this year. On top of this they have partnerships with leading universities to utilise them for their Research and Development projects. They type of technologies that are used to predict behaviour from advanced analysis images and video feeds. You’ll also be working with NVIDIA’s Jetson edge AI platform. These types of projects are rare in Australia by themselves. Imagine working in an environment that involved ALL of them? Most of their R&D is done in Melbourne. They have a large budget for these projects as they are in an innovative industry, to stay in an innovative industry they have to invest in new development, so you know you will always be in front of the trend. Your manager is passionate about challenging the status quo, you will be given the opportunity to own your projects, conduct research and be given autonomy when needed. Imagine that feeling once you’ve joined the team. What experience should I have? You’ll have exceptional C++ programming skills who has been in the industry for at least five years, and have played an influential part in projects however have not been given responsibility and this is something you are craving. Prior experience in developing performance optimized code is essential (e.g. projects related to trading systems, high speed networking devices, networking protocol implementation, video streaming services etc). Nearly all of the Computer Vision and Machine Learning models have been developed by researchers already so they’re looking for a gun C++ software engineer to implement those models (not develop them). You may be someone with more experience and delivered a couple of successful products to market, however you haven’t been given enough R&D budgets and support your creativity. To succeed in this role you’ll have in-depth C++ programming experience (at least five years of industry experience), strong software architectural design skills, performance optimisation code development and applied traditional computer science theory in your previous roles (e.g. multi-threading, real-time concepts, dealing with race conditions, OS fundamentals etc). Overall you are someone who is passionate about C++ programming and likes working with cross-functional teams. Challenge is your need.
