The Role Senior or Principal Civil Engineer (Based on technical competency, skills and experience) You will be responsible for providing expertise and technical authority of civil engineering studies for substations and renewables. You will be responsible in mentoring and developing engineers within the Civil Engineering discipline, as well as lead the development and delivery of processes, procedures, and templates to improve the efficiency and quality of engineering output. You will obtain a key working relationship with the business development team supporting complex projects to ensure optimal solutions by assisting in preparation of conceptual designs, estimates and project proposals. Key responsibilities include: Lead, mentor and develop other civil engineers/ graduate engineers and undergraduate engineers. Deliver processes, procedures, standards and templates to improve the efficiency and quality of engineering designs for Utility Substations and Renewables. Ensure compliance of design with relevant design standards, regulations, Australian Standards, and client specifications. Implement Value engineering initiatives throughout the project lifecycle. Produce civil engineering, develop & maintain Technical Authority/ expertise in the area of: Earthworks design, Stormwater drainage and retention design, Roads and pavement design, 3D and 12D modelling and civil design. Provide technical direction, oversight and management of both engineering and design projects, Including the provision of technical advice to management, staff, contractors, and clients. What you will need University degree in Civil Engineering, recognised by Engineers Australia. Strong experience in civil engineering design on both greenfield and brownfield projects with a primary focus on earthworks, pavement grading, stormwater drainage and pavement design. Sound knowledge and experience in the operation of civil design software packages including 12d, Civil 3d, AutoCAD and Drains. Current Chartered Professional Engineer as defined for registration on NPER register preferred (or eligibility for) Project and design leadership / management experience. On-site project experience.
