Assist in the start-up phase, before moving to a hands on lead migrating on-premises Oracle data warehouse to a new AWS/Snowflake warehouse The Role: This is a twelve-month initial engagement with the possibility of extensions as the program is likely to run for several years. Looking for Snowflake Data Engineers to assist in the start-up phase, and as the project progresses, to form the leads in two development teams that would support parallel streams of development. The team within the organisation operates in an agile manner with multiple projects in flight. The technical teams are small and rely on good teamwork to get projects done. Key requirements of the role: The role(s) reports to the project manager and will be responsible to: Work with data modeler/data analyst to develop, test, and optimize ETL/data objects as required. Monitor and optimize the performance of the data platform. Ensure adherence to source code management, release management, and necessary documentation practices. Assist with planning, problem-solving, and support of other team members. Act as lead for a small team of similarly skilled developers (as the team grows). Ensuring work status for the team is maintained in Jira. About you? 2-3 years of experience as a Data Engineer with AWS/Snowflake. Proficient in using Snowflake's features such as Snowpipe, Streams, and Tasks. Strong programming skills in SQL and Python Experience with DBT Cloud migration experience with large organisations Experience in establishing greenfield Snowflake environments Understanding and working knowledge of data management and data warehousing concepts Leadership skills Working knowledge of Jira Good understanding of Agile delivery methodology and ability to adapt to change.
