About the Role – Software Engineering Lead As Software Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and direction, leveraging software engineering expertise to support the organisation’s technical initiatives. This involves ensuring the new solutions across mobile and cloud platforms adhere to best practices, align with architectural principles, and comply with engineering standards. Your oversight encompasses development standards, services, and tools, empowering the software engineering team to consistently deliver reliable, fast, secure, and compliance services. Engagement spans all phases of the agile delivery cycle, encompassing initial discovery, problem analysis, scoping, epic and story definition, refinement, early prototyping, user feedback cycles, and implementation. You’ll contribute to: People leadership, training, and development Engineering standards, processes, and tooling DevOps implementation Technical maintenance Cloud migration and change initiatives Support for core applications Build and deployment processes Automation testing Creation, monitoring, and logging of application environments The ideal candidate is a people-focused leader, donning the hats of a mentor, coach, facilitator, and conduit for information, prioritising individual and team learning and development goals. Your purpose centres on building trusted relationships to ensure seamless and productive project experiences for all involved. You embrace active, ongoing collaboration with teams and stakeholders, recognising its significance in comprehending their technical and other needs and the underlying reasons. This understanding is crucial for solving the right problems with solutions that are desirable, feasible, viable, and well-balanced. A bit about you: Demonstrated skills and experience in technical software solution engineering leadership, delivering technology solutions, in particular micro-services, and API architecture. Proven expertise in providing direction and guidance for transitioning the organisation's applications to the cloud (AWS/Azure). Demonstrated strong analytical skills, adept at adopting a holistic view across multiple domains and effectively communicate complex technical information concisely to diverse stakeholders. Strong coaching, mentoring, and people leadership capabilities, especially within an evolving and agile environment during organisational change management activities.
