Prince of Peace Kindergarten opened its doors in May 2011, and is home to the youngest members of the College. The Kindergarten is situated in our Everton Park Junior Campus, surrounded by natural bush areas. Prince of Peace Kindergarten is a single unit, community based not-for-profit service. It operates an approved extended hours Kindergarten Program, which children can attend between 6.30am and 6.00pm for two to five days a week. The Kindergarten operates for 50 weeks of the year. About The Role: Applications are invited from suitably qualified and committed professionals who are enthusiastic, innovative, and dedicated. This is a full-time position as an Early Childhood Teacher Commencing 08 January 2024 Hours: 8.00am - 4.00pm inclusive of 1 hour of planning time each day 10 weeks leave per year in line with Queensland Kindergarten funding calendar Benefits: Excellent base or above award salary based on experience Paid professional development opportunities, including first aid and child protection training. Demonstrated professional skills Build professional relationships with children, parents, colleagues and members of the community. Support the mission and ministry at the Service, upholding the Lutheran ethos. Implement the Service’s policies and procedures at all times. 2. Demonstrated ability to plan and implement education and care programs • Facilitate positive and respectful relationships with all children. • Using the approved learning framework, develop and implement an age-appropriate, early childhood program that is based on planning, reflective practices and intentional teaching • Model effective application of pedagogy in teaching practices. • Keep accurate records of individual children to support future planning and report on developmental progress. • Involve educators and other staff in planning, documenting and evaluation of the program • Establish an environment that meets the emotional, social, cognitive, spiritual and physical needs of the children. • Develop children’s spiritual awareness through the exploration of belief systems and celebrations embraced by the Lutheran Church. • Implement effective and appropriate behaviour guidance techniques and strategies
