Eden Ritchie is seeking a Senior Online Content Designer who will work collaboratively with a team of communication colleagues and engage with a range of department and government stakeholders to deliver strategic web-based communication and engagement projects and services. Initial 6 month contract with possibility of extension Work from home / hybrid option available Brisbane CBD location As the Senior Online Content Designer, your key responsibilities will include: Develop and implement online communication strategies and initiatives to inform staff, stakeholders and the public of departmental programs, policies and initiatives. Design, edit and publish customer-focussed digital content on the department’s internal and external websites (including the Queensland Government franchise websites) using web content management systems Squiz Matrix and SharePoint. Lead the development and design of online content within a team of editorial and publishing professionals. Apply your understanding of the Queensland Government’s online environment, including appropriate website standards and guidelines, to design and structure content across different websites, based on audience and purpose. Conduct usability testing, interviews and online surveys to gather user insights on digital communication projects, using Google Analytics. Deliver advice to business areas about online content strategy, accessibility requirements, industry guidelines and whole-of-government website standards. Maintain effective working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders to enable expectation management and explanation of content decisions. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Communication team’s practices and procedures through training and mentoring of colleagues. Technical/operational expertise: Experience with Squiz Matrix and SharePoint content management systems. Experience designing and building online consultations (especially using Engagement HQ), as well as experience with search engine optimisation and analytical software (such as Google Analytics and Data Studio) is highly desirable. Extensive experience creating and writing content based on user needs that meets readability and WGAG requirements, with the ability to apply the Australian Government Style Guide. High level communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to elicit content requirements from stakeholders of all levels. Significant experience in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating a dynamic online environment with a focus on content. This includes managing complex projects within agreed budgets and timeframes, ensuring all output aligns with the strategic priorities of the agency's operations and government initiatives. Ability to represent an agency, negotiate or communicate on behalf of the agency with stakeholders, and provide guidance and mentorship to other team members. Strong analytical, copywriting and problem-solving skills in an online content development and/or project management context. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and contribute to the positive culture of a team with a track record of maintaining a partnership mentality and supporting all colleagues to succeed. While not mandatory, tertiary qualifications in journalism, professional editing, communications or similar will be highly regarded.
