The Position The role of English Teacher is a rewarding opportunity to inspire our students and continue to build our thriving academic program. Key priorities for the role include: Teach and aspire to the standards articulated in the Wenona Effective Teaching Cycle in collaboration with our team of professional educators Planning and implementing authentic assessments that informs teaching and learning Providing pastoral care and meeting the social and emotional wellbeing needs of young people Facilitate and enrich student learning and engagement in the classroom and beyond In particular this role will play an active role in developing and strengthening the teaching of the Extension courses as part of a team. This role is full-time permanent opportunity to commence in Term 1 2024 or at an negotiated date. This role requires the successful applicant to be NESA accredited, hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check and to be fully COVID vaccinated. About You To be successful in this role, you will: Committed to excellence in the teaching of English 7-12 in a leading school for Girls' Education. Experience in English Extension Courses and keen to develop and strengthen the teaching of the extension courses as part of a team (Year 11 and/ or Year 12 Extension 1, possibly Year 12 Extension 2 or willingness to gain experience). Experience in teaching English Advanced with a record of promoting student excellence. Enjoys and wants to be part of a thriving team that values flexible, innovative and creative teaching Practices. Possesses contemporary and extensive professional knowledge and understanding of the teaching of English 7-12 and the aspects that influence learning and development, effective pedagogies, assessment and reporting, a range of resources and best practice in teaching and learning.
