About the Role The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the estimating and construction delivery of Major Loss Projects, across both residential and commercial properties in all sectors pursued by Bay Building Services. Reporting to the Manager | Major Loss & Specialty, the Construction Manager is responsible for the overall planning, direction, organisation, and execution of all make safes and construction projects to the highest customer satisfaction, safety and quality levels within budget and project schedule. This position is shared between on-site and in office work and requires a strong understanding of both Construction and Insurance Repairs. Key activities (include but are not limited to the following): Ensuring that all active sites are compliant with state and industry specific WHS compliance requirements. Ensuring client escalations and warranty claims are actioned in a timely and professional manner. Ensuring trade recoveries are promptly identified and pursued to minimise the margin erosion for the portfolio. Ensuring that the budgeted revenue target for the respective state is met on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis with the delivery of the pipeline for the state. Monitoring the quality of workmanship, materials, and final output to ensure adherence to project specifications and industry standards. Implementing and enforcing quality control measures across all jobs and sites within the state portfolio. Key Skills and Qualifications: Experience working directly with clients, engineers, building consultants, and all construction related contractors and suppliers. Thorough understanding of the construction process, critical inspection points, building permits and OHS / WHS requirements. Understanding of relevant Building codes and Australian standards and State legislation. Proven skills in construction estimating for building repairs to both domestic and commercial properties.
