About Placement Services: Placement services provide statutory out-of-home care places (including physical, psychological, and emotional care) for children and young people as part of an integrated response, when assessment indicates that separation from their family is unavoidable, to ensure the child's or young person's safety or wellbeing. A range of services are required to respond to the different levels of support needs of the child or young person and provide stable, quality care within Child and Family's case management framework. Your contribution: To provide advice, support and assistance to maintain accurate and effective office and information systems including administration information, management of financial systems in relation to the operation of Mackay Placement Services and associated facilities and to provide administrative support as required.Key duties and responsibilities: The Administration Officer's key responsibilities are: Administering functions under Regulation of Care including placements and carer management. Implement, maintain and review financial and administrative policies and procedures, including, travel and accommodation arrangements and building, vehicle and plant and equipment maintenance to facilitate the effective functioning of the Directorate/s. Administer financial processes including procurement, ordering, payments of accounts, petty cash, monthly monitoring and reconciliation in accordance with current legislative and departmental accounting practices. Provide a high standard of skills in a range of software packages and databases in the administration of services provided by the Directorate/s. Investigate financial enquiries ensuring timely, accurate solutions are reached. Contribute to effective teamwork by developing an understanding of the roles and duties of other team members and working collaboratively to deliver services to the Directorate/s. Liaise with Departmental officers and other Government and non-Government organisations as necessary. Enhance the local regional community by actively practicing and promoting excellence in service delivery and public administration and identifying opportunities for improving regional client service.
