Metallurgist/ Process Engineer Date: 11 Oct 2023 Location: Mine FIFO, AU 8/6 day-shift roster - FIFO from Perth to the Roy Hill mine Opportunity to work with a high performing iron ore business Performance, Retention and Profit Share Bonuses Join a large inhouse process & metallurgical department with exposure to diverse equipment Fly with Qantas with access to QFF points and status credits About the role Due to an internal promotion, our technical services team is currently seeking a Metallurgist/ Process Engineer to join them on a FIFO 8/6 roster based at the Roy Hill mine. Reporting to the Superintendent Metallurgist, you will improve the metallurgical and operational performance of the processing plant whilst providing technical support to the operations team. You will also be involved in plant-based metallurgical projects that optimise plant yield, improve operational performance/ efficiency, and ensure product quality is maintained. Duties Provide technical input into the operation of the processing plant to ensure budget and forecast production targets are met Review operating and technical data to identify any trends or non-compliance and identify opportunities to rectify problems or to optimise processes Assist in the development of project scopes and business cases for production optimisation Validate all reported metallurgical and operating data and prepare periodical management reports Contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of key process controls, operating systems, and plant flow sheets Contribute to the development and implementation of quality assurance programmes and audits ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and technical standards for the processing department Develop and implement quality assurance programs and audits to ensure compliance with operating procedures and technical standards Skills and experience Tertiary qualifications in metallurgy, chemical or process engineering Involvement in process plant optimisation and improvements projects, and test work campaigns Experience with metallurgical accounting packages Ability to build effective stakeholder relations across multiple divisions Process control knowledge; and VBA, SQL, and similar coding skills will be highly beneficial Mine Facilities Modern, comfortable camp accommodation High quality gourmet food options (vegan, gluten free and healthy options) Large fully equipped gym facility, as well as a gym specifically for females Heated outdoor swimming pool Beach Volleyball court and Golf simulators Village shop and extensive supporting amenities SWIFT in-room entertainment with comprehensive content and own-device casting capability Active social club with community events and activities for employees Lifestyle, Learning and Recreation initiative which provide events for your family About Roy Hill Roy Hill is a world class mining company, leading the way through innovative, integrated mining rail and port operations, to export iron ore safely and efficiently from West Australia's Pilbara region.
