Howden Australia received an excellence award as an Employer of Choice for 2020 and 2021 Join our winning team today The Big Picture: We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to sustain and develop Howden's quality assurance requirements for both new build (NB) and aftermarket (AFM) projects according to Contract specification, to be delivered on time, and within set budget. This role is responsible to ensure project products are delivered in line with contract quality requirements and are suitably signed off prior to finished goods status. They will liaise with customers for all quality related matters to include but not limited to preparation of project quality plans, ITPs and completion of quality dossiers. The successful candidate will assign Quality control inspections based on contract quality requirements and manage Howden's nonconformance/corrective actions. They will support senior management in quality control and assurance matters, driving continuous improvement with our suppliers. What needs to be done? - Write, monitor and update quality procedures to ensure compliance to the relevant national and international standards. - Conduct quality audits to ensure compliance with ISO9001 and other defined standards. - Work with both pre and post contract internal stakeholders to develop project quality plans and dossiers to ensure end compliance with contract quality requirements. - Review/approve and file quality control documentation to ensure compliance to contract requirements. - Notify, laisse and consult with customer for any quality related matters. - Treatment of non-conformances and corrective actions. - Compile hand over certificate for client's approval to certify that the product is functioning according to client's requirements. - Ensure that operations maintenance manuals are compiled to the client's requirements and are then accepted by the client. - Grow long-term relationships with clients and capitalizes on equity and partnership opportunities. - Effectively communicates relevant project/practice information to management and team. - Ensure Suppliers meet all the contractual & Howden specifications and have traceable quality records for the same - Auditing and approving new suppliers as part of an audit team ensuring compliance to International QA certifications. What do you need to bring? You are an energetic, positive, self-motivated individual, who displays a drive and eagerness to succeed. You demonstrate a professional attitude in everything you do with good time management skills to handle multiple priorities. You are confident working autonomously, whilst also being an enthusiastic team player, with the desire to help and support the team. You work methodically with a keen attention to detail. You are a physically fit individual, able to travel (interstate and international) to attend projects on site as required. Your problem solving and skills and sound judgement will be a great asset as well as the following: - Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent - Minimum 7 years' experience in relevant Quality role - Supplier & Internal Audit qualification - Knowledge of ISO and OHS standards - Basic financial management - Demonstrated experience working with MS Office applications - Excellent communication skills - Excellent building and developing relationship skills including stakeholder management - Excellent customer relation skills including ability to translate customer requirements - 7 years' experience in heavy engineering and in particular fabrication, welding and machining processes - Quality related experience - Experience in quality assurance management systems (e.g. ISO9000) - Experience in leading and managing process - Knowledge & Understanding of NDT process's and techniques To express your interest in this position click the apply now button attaching your CV and cover letter.
