Exciting role for an experienced Network Engineer to be responsible for supporting the expansion of a global enterprise hybrid network to Australia The Role: Our client is looking for an experienced Network Engineer to be responsible for supporting the expansion of a global enterprise hybrid network within a team responsible for network and infrastructure reliability, security, and performance, bringing a broad skillset with knowledge of the design, deployment, management, and optimisation of enterprise networks. Sydney Based / Permanent Hybrid Working Arrangements Cisco LAN / Cisco WAN / OSPF / BGP The Responsibilities: Develop software-defined LAN, WAN, and cloud-based networks to meet internal client needs and business goals. Use Cisco networking expertise to configure and manage routers, switches, and related devices. Manage network connectivity in Microsoft Azure, including Azure Virtual Networks, VPNs, ExpressRoute, and Azure Firewall. Implement and maintain network security, including access controls, firewall policies, intrusion detection, and security best practices. Serve as a subject matter expert for diagnosing and resolving network issues, offering 3rd line support as required. Configure network monitoring tools to proactively track network health, performance, and capacity, and recommend upgrades and optimizations when necessary. Maintain accurate and current network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures. Swiftly resolve technical issues in IT systems, network, and server infrastructure with a commitment to staying until the issue is resolved, aligning with business needs. Provide guidance and take charge of resolving complex technical problems related to the network and systems infrastructure. Design, plan, and implement office-based network solutions. About You: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role. Cisco certifications CCNA, CCNP are highly preferred. Demonstrated experience working on mission-critical systems in a distributed networking environment, including effective change control procedures and preventive maintenance to optimize system availability and resilience. Relevant Technology Exposure: Proven track record as a Network Engineer with a strong focus on Cisco networking. Hands-on experience in configuring and supporting Cisco local area network (LAN) equipment, including Nexus 9K, CAT9K, CAT3K, DNA Centre, SDA (Fabric), and traditional LAN. Proficiency in configuring and supporting Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela) to maintain the existing wide area network (WAN) infrastructure. In-depth knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP. Experience in supporting Cisco wireless environments (IOS XE).
