Senior Social Worker Grade 3 General Medicine Permanent, full time or part time Provide clinical excellence in the Social Work general medicine team Flexible roster including weekends The Senior Social Worker provides high quality care to clients through excellent clinical skills, effective communication, and active participation within a multidisciplinary team environment. Social workers aim to provide comprehensive assessment to enable a targeted intervention plan to be developed in consultation with the patient, their family, carers, and significant others. The General Medicine service at the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is committed to providing outstanding patient care. In 2023 we are introducing a new, contemporary model for Allied Health in General Medicine to redefine care for our patients and the experience of our highly regarded team across 7 days. A significant growth in dedicated staffing will support service enhancement and deliver a career structure to develop specialist clinical, research, education and leadership skills for Allied Health working in General Medicine. We are looking for new Allied Health professionals to join our highly experienced and skilled team in delivering this new 7-day Allied Health service. We need dynamic Senior Clinicians, passionate clinician-researchers, junior staff who want to develop in an inspiring environment and clinicians who want to make a difference in our General Medicine Units every day. There has never been a better time to join us Your new role: Conduct Social Work patient assessment, counselling, and support. Provide clinical excellence and social work service across but not limited to General Medicine. Be part of and contribute to a dynamic and progressive Social Work team. Foster positive team and workplace culture. You will be well supported by the Social Work Leaders (Grades 3 and 4), Social Work Manager, and the Social Work team. About you: Strong ability to develop relationships with relevant team members from allied health, nursing, and medical teams. Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced and evolving environment whilst providing patient-centred care. Effective time management and organisational skills. You have acute hospital experience with a collaborative working style. You are looking to demonstrate your advanced Social Work skills and work with world leaders in care, learning and research. You have recognised experience and knowledge in the field of general medicine and ability to apply policies and processes to meet challenges.
