The National Museum of Australia has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic professional to join the agency in the role of Retail Coordinator. This position sits in the Retail team, in the Commercial and Enterprise business unit. The position will be required to assist in all areas of the retail business, including in a supervisory capacity in the Museum Shop; online shop fulfilment and inventory management as well as supporting other Shop activities. The role will also assist with administration tasks for the business unit including accounts processing, establishing and maintaining procedure documentation, and team communications. As a member of a small team, the successful candidate will undertake a range of functions to meet performance and customer service standards. The Commercial and Enterprise business unit includes the Retail team which operates the Museum Shop, exhibition shops, online shop, wholesale and distribution and requires the Coordinator to ensure retail processes are performed while maintaining a high level of customer service. This position will assist in the induction of new team members, scheduling work and commercial activations into Museum programming and supporting the activation of the Reconciliation Action Plan and Sustainability Action Plan. The position will involve working in several databases and online systems, requiring a high level of attention to detail. The position will work closely with the Retail Team Leader, Inventory Coordinator and External Retail Sales Coordinator. The key duties of the position include The successful candidate will bring to the Museum knowledge of retail practices, online shop platforms, inventory management and general administration skills using the Microsoft Office suite. This position will work across the different parts of the business including the main shop, online shop, inventory management and administration. This role will help to maintain and update standard operating procedures and process maps. The Retail Coordinator will support the Team Leader in the supervision of the Retail team and be able to work with rostering systems and financial reconciliations. The successful candidate will be willing to assist the retail operations in all areas as required and bring to the team an enthusiastic and can-do attitude.
