Buyers Administration Assistant Job No.: 536664 Location: Melbourne - CBD & Inner Job type: Full-Time We have an exciting opportunity for a Buyer's Administration Assistant to join our Merchandising function supporting our Womenswear department at David Jones. The role In its 185th year, David Jones is currently in the midst of a dynamic organisational wide transformation as it transitions back into Australian ownership. With a focus on delivering our Vision2025 strategy, the Buyer’s Administration Assistant will work alongside the Buyer to drive commercial success across the Women's denim, active and swimwear categories. Working alongside the Buyer, the Buyer's Administration Assistant will provide administrative support to help with ordering processing, transfers of stock, updating pricing, and ensuring data integrity across of the products across systems, online and in-house. This is a fantastic entry-level buying position, for someone who is passionate about retail, is detail-orientated and seeking a career in Buying. With a hybrid mix of time in the office and from home, this role will suit a passionate customer-focused Buyer’s Administration Assistant who thrives in a fast paced and commercially evolving environment. What does the role involve? Proving support to your Buyer with data maintenance, document and report filling and correspondence with stores and vendors, Assisting with the generation of weekly reporting and various Excel reports, Managing purchase orders, entering prices and delivery details, Entering product descriptions and generating product SKUs for stores and online, Coordinating with key internal and external stakeholders to organise meetings, Liaising with stores, vendors and various other areas of the business to action ad-hoc tasks, Ad-hoc support to the merchandise team regarding range planning What are we looking for? Demonstrated experience working within a retail environment either in-store or support office, Confidence using Microsoft Office with intermediate/advanced level Excel skills, Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with data integrity, Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage with stakeholders at various levels internally and externally, Ability to prioritise and meet conflicting deadlines Why work for us?
