The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is looking to fill the role of Lead Specialist Developer - Drupal, in our Technology and Security Division's Dissemination Systems section.As a Lead Specialist Developer you will be required to: liaise with business partners and other stakeholders to resolve critical issues, as well as make informed decisions about applications and their technical strategy/roadmapcontinuously improve team practices to ensure team effectiveness and alignment with division best practice (e.g., Agile, DevOps)ensure service, incident and problem management processes and practices are followed in line with agreed ITSM standardsfoster collaborative working relationships across organisation and with key partners.work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary and geographically dispersed team to carry out tasks in support of the ABS’ organisational objectivesprovide technical leadership for Drupal applications, providing advice on how to best achieve requirements/outcomes as well as assist with technical strategy and roadmapsmentor and coach team members in their work performance and technical skills.The Dissemination Systems section provides critical development and support for the ABS’s statistical dissemination functions. We strive to deliver solutions that support the ABS enterprise strategy and its objectives. Key technologies in use in the TSD Dissemination Systems section include, but are not limited to: Drupal v9/v10JavaPHPJavascript/HTML/CSSLinux.Stat SuiteTableBuilderIBM DominoSAS Cloud Platform: AWSDatabase – Oracle, MySQLCI / CD supporting technologies – Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, JIRA, GitITSM technologies – ServiceNow, Dynatrace.What we are looking for (selection criteria)To be suitable you should have most or all of the following skills, qualities, and experience: demonstrated track record in leading the technical development of web-based solutions using Drupal frameworks well-developed knowledge and experience in the use of PHPdemonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and produce high quality outcomes in a fast-paced environmentcontemporary experience in CI/CD, Agile and DevOps methods and toolsability to maintain appropriate documentation of technical solution designs, implementation and best practicesability to manage a complex set of stakeholders and nurture positive working relationshipsstrategic thinking and ability to apply strategy to area of responsibilitywell-developed communication and negotiation skillsstaff management and technical coaching/mentoring skills.How to applyYou will need to upload your current resume, provide referee details, and respond to the following: In no more than 500 words, explain how you meet the qualities required for this position, and your experience specifically with an ICT challenge you have faced and how your specific contribution resulted in the outcomes achieved.
