Provide electrical infrastructure expertise to the Facilities Manager within Loddon Mallee Region Prisons. Ongoing full time opportunity to work within Loddon Prison and Middleton VPS Grade 4: $91,418 - $103,725 plus superannuation. The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Technical Officer, Electrician to provide a critical role within Loddon Prison Precinct, Corrections Victoria. About the Business Unit Located at Castlemaine, Loddon Prison is a 477 bed Medium Security Prison for sentenced male prisoners. Adjacent to Loddon Prison is Middleton, a 236 bed Restricted Minimum-Security Prison for sentenced male prisoners. The focus of both prisons is rehabilitation via individual case management, employment, education, training and the provision of programs and targeted interventions to address offending behaviour and promote the development of prosocial behaviour. Both prisons provide contemporary and quality correctional services that prepare prisoners for transition and reintegration. The Maintenance Team Electrician is responsible for the day-to-day management of all electrical infrastructure and building condition and maintenance within the prison. This position will coordinate and manage an internal prisoner maintenance work team as part of the prisons building and preventative maintenance program. About the Role An important facet of this role involves liaison with internal staff and external stakeholders and preparation of analytical and informed contributions to develop and maintain the prisons electrical and security management system infrastructure. To provide critical information including the preparation of reports on the prison's electrical services infrastructure condition and improvement / preventative maintenance requirements. This multifaceted role encompasses human resource management, including Performance Management, coaching, and developing staff, OH&S requirements including compliance codes relevant regulations and acts specific to the works being undertaken on site, E.E.O. legislation responsibilities, staff employment and training requirements and budget monitoring. Management of OH&S site induction program and permits to work. The maintenance team electrician will identify operational and services delivery deficiencies and will develop and implement strategic solutions. Some of your duties will include: Provide electrical infrastructure expertise to the Facilities Manager within Loddon Mallee Region Prisons Under general direction, assist with the technical operation of all electrical systems within Loddon Mallee Region Prisons. Provide a maintenance service for all electronic/electrical/mechanical systems at the Prison, including security, data, phone and building management systems. About you To be successful in this role, you will have: Demonstrated electrical experience in an industrial, commercial or facilities environment Current trade certification as a Licensed electrician Ability to identify work specifications within scope and provide technical information to contractors Demonstrated understanding/experience working with security electronic systems Qualifications Current trade certification as a Licensed electrician Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
