You will lead the First Nations Helpline and related services, to implement and evaluate our program's ability to assist first nations people by improving community accessibility, our service models and data collection processes. Additionally, you will establish referral pathways and provide accessible legal and non-legal services to First Nations people. Finally, you will help drive Legal Help's transformation into an inclusive and best practice legal assistance provider to meet organizational goals. This is a Designated position. This is a special measures role and only Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply, as per the Equal Opportunity Act 2010. About you: As our ideal candidate, you will possess: Lived experience working with First Nations people, including a deep understanding of cultural norms, communication styles, and the complex issues they face within the legal system. Possess high-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the demonstrated ability to work with government and legal assistance sectors, First Nations clients and organisations, and other external service providers. Demonstrated ability to drive service innovation and growth and to influence change, underpinned by experience in complex project management, integrated and trauma-informed service design and delivery, including client first approaches, consumer engagement, evidence-based decision making. Able to problem solve at a high level in developing, implementing, and evaluating service models and solutions which create better access for first nations peoples. About Legal Help: Legal Help provides responsive and targeted high-quality assistance to community members by diagnosing legal problems in a wide range of areas, providing legal information, legal advice and referrals to legal and non-legal services. Its staff operate two general helplines (phone and webchat) and 14 priority helplines and in-person services at VLA offices and courts, responding to around 140,000 requests for assistance each ear with streamlined intake, direct service delivery and referrals. They provide services in 29 languages and makes more than 400 referrals a day to more than 200 organisations. Don't meet every requirement?
