GHD's Tasmanian Energy & Resources Group is now inviting expressions of interest from experienced Tailings Engineers to become part of our globally recognised design team. In this role, you'll not only work on tailings management projects but also be responsible for the ethical and sustainable design, construction, and upkeep of tailings storage facilities, as well as supporting mine waste management projects. Additionally, our team specialises in closure designs for tailings dams, waste rock dumps, and other mine site features. Our team has developed a Centre of Excellence for Tailings services and is a key hub in our global network. Joining us, you'll support clients in every state of Australia, as well as several international projects. We maintain a strong ongoing workload, along with ambitious plans for growth, across a wide range of exciting and diverse projects. Your position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: Contributing to tailings management projects, including design, construction, operation, and closure of mining & tailings storage facilities. Providing expert guidance on tailings engineering, geotechnical analysis, and related disciplines. Ensuring that projects comply with relevant environmental regulations and safety standards. Conducting risk assessments and safety evaluations, identifying potential hazards and recommending mitigation strategies. Collaborating with clients to understand their unique needs, provide tailored solutions, and build strong relationships. Managing projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Providing mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers. What would you bring to the team? A relevant engineering qualification with recent experience as a Civil Engineer in the tailings industry Experience across a range of projects related engineering projects and preferably with experience across the civil infrastructure and mining/resources sectors Familiarity with GISTM and ANCOLD Guidelines to ensure compliance and best practices in tailings dam design, construction, and management Exposure to managing the financial and technical aspects of project delivery Well-developed technical report writing skills and the ability to present concepts to a diverse range of clients Interested?
