Role description: Due to ongoing and exciting growth across our business, we are looking for a Principal Communications / ICT Engineer to join our team in either Sydney or Melbourne. If you would love to develop ICT strategies and lead the design approach for some of the most significant city shaping projects in Australia, this could be the role for you. We are looking for a self-starter who can build a loyal customer base by delivering innovative design solutions and leading our electrical design teams in the design and implementation process. You will enjoy identifying and building relationships with new clients and building the capacity of our eastern seaboard electrical team to deliver outstanding ICT/ Comms Design solutions. Role accountabilities: Providing leadership around ICT/ Communications opportunities and strategies for both internal Arcadis projects across all sectors as well as undertaking standalone ICT projects for external clients; Generate and grow a client base with a view to developing a dedicated ICT team while initially working with existing Arcadis electrical engineers to document and develop ICT strategies, designs and implementation; Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing direction and technical advice, leading by example to achieve company goals and championing a quality culture; Developing and managing the Project Programme and obtaining the buy-in of all stakeholders; Manage all aspects of the client relationship so that delivery meets or exceeds client expectations; and Ensuring risks are proactively identified, assessed, and managed to avoid adverse impacts on the project. Qualifications & Experience: First and foremost, you share our passion for improving the quality of life. You are a degree-qualified engineering professional with a passion for sharing your knowledge and experience within a team striving for high performance outcomes. You will come to us with: Relevant engineering degree with Chartered status or equivalent professional accreditation; Experience in developing communication system design solutions ideally within either transport, health or education projects Strong knowledge of Operational Control Systems, CC TV, network security systems and digital infrastructure design Excellent communication and relationship building skills, both internally and externally with the ability to present ideas and convey information in a client friendly way; Experience in leading clients, strategy development and design in a consultant organisation and working in a tendered design services environment as well as D&C projects; Sound commercial background, including familiarity with contractual conditions and procedures, including international conditions and ability to take commercial responsibility for a project; and Experienced in leading, and working with, people from varied backgrounds and cultures.
