This true giant of Engineering is currently undertaking a major construction project right here in Newcastle. A permanent role has now opened up for an experienced Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical) to join the team. Working on this key project until completion (expected mid to late 2025) then moving onto BAU work within the company, you will have diversity in your work You will part of a broader multidisciplinary Engineering team. You will ensure projects are executed in a safe, efficient, cost effective and timely manner. You will be a primary technical coordination interface for the business and be constantly seeking out value-add opportunities. You will be an innovator and not necessarily follow the traditional engineering route. This role may suit an experienced Project Engineer looking to move into a Senior role with more responsibility. Our ideal person will have: Minimum 5 years experience as a Project Engineer preferably in Heavy Engineering/Manufacturing and Industrial environments. Construction experience is also highly valued. Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering Solid experience on projects of $250K and upwards preferred. Experience working in multidisciplinary teams including Draftspeople, Project Managers and other Engineers. Safety as a core value in everything you do and an understanding of legislative requirements regarding safety systems Above average computer skills including SAP and statistical tools knowledge and experience Proven track record in problem solving and the ability to communicate across all levels of an organisation. Experience with Crane Project Installation will be highly regarded but is not essential. This role will over time give you exposure to Project Management tasks and duties. Training and Development in your areas of interest will be forthcoming. Full time permanent salary will be offered commensurate upon experience.
