Application Engineer / Technical Salesperson required for Global technology and engineering firm to support sales team with Mining and O&G clients. About The Role This global technical engineering group is currently on the lookout for a mechanical engineer, with Design (CAD), modelling (FEA) and technical support experience to step into an Application Engineering role, working alongside their President of Application Engineering (who has been with the business for over 20 years) in their Sydney office, where you will get the chance to devour and learn from one of the most experienced SMEs and leaders in the profession These folks work with closely with the sales teams, who work with the mining and oil and gas companies. Ideally they are looking for people who have retrofit and drive package experience – this would be hugely desirable, but not essentially needed. What You’ll be Doing You will be one of the main points of contact for Technical Support for all Sales teams Product selection e.g. performing calculations and simulations (tools: TurboSim & Belt Analyst) Perform and manage FEA analysis (ANSYS Software) of drive packages with relevant engineering resources Evaluation of technical requirements and preparation of technical solutions within the standard product range as well as presentation to the customer in specific projects Specific focus on local scope of supply for drive package and retrofit projects o Perform and manage FEA analysis (ANSYS Software) of drive packages o Preparation of product documentation for OTO and OTC team o Designing / Drafting of drive package and retrofit solutions and detailing together with relevant engineering resources A Bit About You Degree and above in Mechanical Engineering Minimum 5 years working experience in Engineering (Mechanical Design), Application Engineering, Technical Sales Support or equivalent function. Experience in within the Mining / O&G industry is preferred If you think you have the skills and are up for the challenge, you know what to do
