Senior / Associate Engineering Geologist Join our close-knit and growing office where you will be as part of a dynamic and supportive team of scientific and engineering specialists delivering challenging and complex projects and learning all the time. About the role We are looking for an experienced and motivated engineering geologist to join our team to work on a high profile M6 project. You will be responsible for providing geological and geotechnical advice to support the tunnelling operations. The successful applicant must have at least 5 to 15 years of professional experience working on large scale infrastructure projects, with specific experience in tunnelling. You need to have experience in structural geology and geotechnical risk in tunnels and mitigation methods, as well as experience in Sydney. If you are an experienced engineering geologist with a passion for working on large scale infrastructure projects, this is the perfect opportunity for you. The role will be a mixture of surface and underground works managing the current excavations of a major infrastructure currently taking place. You will manage a team of personnel collecting as-built geotechnical information from face mapping, endoscopes and probes and prepare and present geotechnical reports to senior design and construction personnel to assist the operations. The role will work closely with instrumentation and groundwater monitoring and require technical review of data. Apply now to join our team and make a real difference on the M6 project About you 5 -15 years professional geology / geotechnical experience working on large scale infrastructure projects with specific experience in tunnelling. Experience in structural geology and geotechnical risk in tunnels and mitigation methods Experience in Sydney sandstone excavation methods, tunnel design process and identification of geotechnical risk during geological desk studies. Experience in 3D geological modelling (Leapfrog Works) Experience managing teams of personnel on roster and a commitment to OHSE. Demonstratable experience in mapping rock slopes, foundations, utility culvert trenches, cut and cover sections of tunnels and have experience in rock mass classifications, communicating ground conditions to managers, and summarising geological conditions. Exposure to geotechnical software such as Slide, PLAXIS or FLAC and tunnel design process. You will be degree qualified in the geosciences and/or geo-engineering disciplines.
