Role description: Due to consistent growth in our business, we are currently looking for a Senior Flood Engineer to join our Sydney team. Join our Urban Development team will see you working on some greenfield and brownfield residential, commercial and industrial projects. This role is flexible to suit the candidate with regards to attendance in the Sydney office, working hours and Business Areas. Role accountabilities: Your work will encompass the development of hydrological and hydraulic models (flood modelling) and authoring reports or other documentation. Lead elements of projects and collaborate with junior team members. Work within a defined area of responsibility on projects with flooding elements. This may include being responsible for specific parts of a design package within a project. Check the quality and accuracy of own and others' work and may be responsible for the development of others through providing guidance, training, and feedback. Represent your team or technical discipline at external meetings with clients or project stakeholders, with support from a more senior colleague as necessary. Qualifications & Experience: First and foremost, you share our passion for improving quality of life through your contribution to major infrastructure or land development projects. You are a technically capable Flood Modeller with experience in civil infrastructure or land development projects. To be successful in this role you will have: Relevant engineering degree (Civil or Environmental). Chartered status or seeking equivalent professional accreditation advantageous. Demonstrated experience most likely in consulting engineering or a similar local/state government role, with exposure to medium-large and multidisciplinary infrastructure projects. Professional experience with TUFLOW (1D, 2D, combined 1D/2D) is an essential criterion. Experience in Hydrologic analysis (e.g., RORB, RAFTS, etc.) and flood modelling with other hydraulic modelling packages such as HEC-RAS is desirable. Experience in GIS software such as MapInfo, QGIS and ArcGIS. An ability to work on multidisciplinary projects and substantial experience in (or a desire to gain exposure to) dealing with clients and business development. Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines (Melbourne Water and VicRoads/Austroads standards). Why Become an Arcadian?
