This position sits within the Core Global Technology Tribe, in a newly formed squad dedicated to building new businesses called carsales next. next is a small, globally focussed team that explore, build and launch technologies to power the future of mobility. We work on unsolved and high potential problems with a start-up mindset at rapid pace to deliver growth for the business. In this role, you will form part of a multi-disciplinary squad tasked with building a product that enables buyers and sellers to transact with one another safely and securely on the carsales platform. Working closely alongside talented Product and Design colleagues you will leverage your strategic, start-up mindset to move fast and rapidly achieve product-market fit. What you'll do Understand and share expertise in mentoring and coaching a team of engineers, ensuring standards and best practices are maintained. Develop and support solutions that deliver enhanced levels of automation and auto-remediation across our systems. Automation will be a key focus to all solutions implemented. Demonstrate understanding, motivations and expertise in collaborating and developing relationships with product managers, engineers, researchers and designers. Understand and share expertise in architecting and building robust and scalable system designs. Develop and professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. Qualifications What we are looking for? Demonstrated inclusive and interpersonal attributes that connect you to our behaviours (we change the game, we own it, we step in, we are curious, we don't take ourselves too seriously) Expertise in the following skillsets C#, .NET Core React, Angular, or Vue.js SQL, relational and NoSQL databases AWS Strong commercial experience in building restful APIs in accordance with best practice industry standards, an understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture, SOLID. Strong understanding of SDLC best practices including adhering to coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, unit testing as well as DevOps best practices including CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code Experience in developing front-end applications using technologies such as building secure enterprise scale applications is useful debugging skills; able to debug complex technical issues involving multiple system components.
