Learn more > pensar.com.au About you: Our Power Engineering team are looking for an intrinsically- motivated and highly driven HV Protection Engineer. The successful applicant will be a vital part of the team that is responsible for the testing and commissioning of new and existing High Voltage Infrastructure and also be exposed to High Voltage Switching Operations to support this role. Additionally, you will gain delivery experience, which will include contract administration, QA, WHS, subcontractor management, and execution trouble shooting/support. You are a HV Protection Engineer team-focused, self-motivated and get great results via effective prioritisation of tasks and time management. You will hold both technical and supervisory responsibilities for the development of high-quality designs for primary high-voltage (HV) systems. You are known for your accuracy, commercial acumen and good understanding of aspects that underpin successful projects such as head and subcontract agreements. Bringing your experience with HV systems, you will be an integral part of our team and play a big part in the success of the various flagship projects Pensar have won. Your responsibilities will include: Planning and leading brownfield and greenfield project testing and commissioning activities. Planning and executing outage activities. Tracking and reporting progress according to the project commissioning schedule. Protection and control relay testing and commissioning. Experience using OMICRON test equipment and software. Experience with major protection relay manufacturers configuration software (SEL, GE, Schneider, and ABB) LV and HV Switchgear, CT & VT testing. HV Cables, Power Transformer and HV Motor Testing PLC / Protection System integration and communications testing experience. Drawing, ITP and defect/RFI management. Supervision and mentoring of junior team members Provide diagnostic testing and maintenance services on a wide variety of electrical protection and control relays & equipment Prepare work records and reports as required, including input into databases and work hours/daily work records Completing maintenance and fault finding on existing installations. Preparing and controlling ITRs, ITPs and ensure JHAs and critical risk assessments are completed during execution of projects. Onsite testing and commissioning of primary electrical infrastructure Assist the teams in designs and system studies during design phase of project. To be successful in this role you will have: To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to have a minimum of 5 - 8 years' hands on HV commissioning and testing experience.
