Your new role The Senior Analytics Engineer is responsible for enabling data science professionals (i.e. Data Scientists and Data Analysts) to deliver on high value prioritised use cases across the Fund, through high quality analytics engineering. This role will work closely with the Data Science team to: Partner with the Data Science team and Technology to deploy and automate the execution of models in production environments Develop, innovate and deliver advanced analytics (e.g. Predictive, Econometric and Optimisation models) Act as an incubator for advanced analytics with a focus on areas of lower maturity and/or high strategic value Support a Fund wide process for analytics use case identification, prioritisation and planning Provide input and support for recommendations and prioritisation of data activities and initiatives for the Fund Support a 'Data and Analytics Hub / Centre of Excellence' which aides Business Units in the achievement of their analytics requirements (incl. guidelines, support repositories etc) The successful applicant will: Be passionate about being hands-on in Data Science efforts, especially on the MS Azure technology stack Be dedicated to driving organisations to achieve maximum value from data and analytics Continuously stay informed as to data and analytics industry developments What you'll need 8 years of experience in analytics, insights or data roles Strong track record in supporting the delivery of predictive, optimisation and econometric models that improve business outcomes and performance Demonstrated experience leading and developing a team of engineering specialists Advanced written and oral communication/ interpersonal skills with the ability to present ideas, perspectives and issues to senior management Excellent problem solving, analytical and research skills, with a strong attention to detail High levels of initiative with the ability to deal with multiple projects simultaneously with conflicting priorities Advanced stakeholder management expertise and experience working with multi-disciplinary teams Deals with ambiguity and is flexible to adjust as requirements and resources shift Deep experience in productionising advanced analytical techniques (and when to use them) including: Econometric (Autoregressive Distributed Lag) Predictive (Neural Networks, GBM, Random Forest, XGBoost Clustering (k-Means, k-prototypes) Optimisation (linear, non-linear programming) Recommender systems Deep understanding of ML-Pipelines Advanced programming skills in R and/or Python Advanced SQL skills Advanced use of MS Office products: Excel, Word and PowerPoint Previous experience in Financial Services, Superannuation Deep experience with cloud environments: MS Azure, AWS, GCP MS Azure certifications (Foundations etc) Life at AustralianSuper AustralianSuper is committed to colleague development, and we support our people with ongoing learning, coaching and training, as well as career opportunities across our expanding global organisation.
