Role description: Due to consistent growth in our team and the demands of our strong and growing pipeline of work heavily involved in our core business of civil highways engineering, a Senior Highways Engineer role has been opened within our Highways business. Role accountabilities: Liaison, interface and representing Arcadis with key clients and contractors; Technical leadership for selected projects or components of projects, taking responsibility for resource allocation, collaborating with other design disciplines ensuring the integrity of the overall design, quality assurance, and client expectations are met; Technical responsibility for all aspects of highways and civil design including road alignment, road furniture, signs & lines, earthworks, construction staging, constructability and interfaces with other disciplines; Understanding our client's businesses, to facilitate building effective and enduring relationships and consolidating both company and personal credibility in the industry; Providing direction to the project team and promoting awareness of technical and commercial risk assessments and mitigation and best value design options; and Supervising and assessing junior engineers, road designers and CAD Technicians and guide them in delivery and their professional development. Qualifications & Experience: A collaborative approach and appreciation of the value of teamwork; A strong client focus; A passion for continuous improvement, quality and improving service for our clients Extensive design experience (>8 years) delivering highways and transportation projects; Relevant engineering degree with Chartered status or equivalent professional accreditation; Demonstrated technical and commercial acumen with proven experience of managing and delivering design solutions; Proven ability to lead, with good influencing, motivating and delegation skills; and Sound knowledge and experience working with local design standards including Austroads Guide to Road Design and specifications.
