We are seeking a dedicated and passionate casual academic staff to teach in the student clinics. You will be expected to teach in the third and fourth year of the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) Program. Clinical educators (Ces) will be expected to have 4-5 years clinical practice experience and be able to supervise the full range of general dentistry. DMD3 and DMD4 students provide comprehensive patient care for patients in the public healthcare system across Sydney Dental Hospital, Westmead Centre for Oral Health and Nepean Centre for Oral Health. You will support students in the DMD program through direct clinic supervision and the provision of student feedback and clinical assessments as directed by the staff at Sydney Dental School. You will also be responsible for upholding the academic quality of the teaching at the Sydney Dental School. Occasional out of hours work may be required such as attendance to compulsory clinical educator training and calibration sessions. Clinic session times vary depending on clinic location. At SDH and NCOH, the session timings are 9:00-12:00 and 1:00-4:00. At WCOH, the session timings are 9:30-12:30 and 1:30-4:30. We are particularly seeking clinical educators to work on Fridays. The successful candidate will need: A current full registration with the Dental Board of Australia (AHPRA) Evidence of a National Police Check (NPC) A Dental degree and/or postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline Demonstrated experience in clinical dentistry A commitment to student teaching and learning Excellent team work and time management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills Evidence of managing staff or students and patients in a clinic setting A commitment to learn and develop yourself in the field of dentistry Desirable Demonstrated experience of teaching in dental education This job is being created for the purpose of Academic Casual recruitment Job Advertisement Content Click to view the Position Description for this role.
