ABOUT THE ROLE Liverpool City Council is guiding this rapid transformation and is seeking a Manager Development Engineering who will lead and manage the Development Engineering Unit to ensure the delivery of Council’s objectives in the provision of Traffic and Transport Services and Land Development Engineering. The successful applicant will lead, manage and develop traffic and transport and land development professionals as well as related administration staff, in the provision, monitoring and reporting of traffic and transport and land development engineering services to achieve sustainable, balanced, consistent and timely outcomes which reflect the vision and expectations of Council and the Liverpool community. This role also requires Supervising Principal Transport Planner and two Coordinators and fostering a commitment to quality and performance in the delivery of these services. The Manager Development Engineering will provide expert and timely professional advice to the Mayor and Councillors, the CEO, senior management, customers and other internal and external stakeholders on development engineering and policy issues with a key focus on sound, accountable, consistent and transparent decision-making and effective communication. ABOUT YOU This position requires the application of management skills in a diverse organisation to establish corporate goals and objectives. You must have tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering and/or Traffic Engineering or equivalent with extensive practical experience in the relevant areas in order to effectively plan, develop and control the activities of this department. You must also have a current class C Driver’s Licence. This position includes a Leaseback Vehicle or Vehicle Allowance.
