THE OPPORTUNITY TAFE NSW is looking for qualified, experienced individuals who wish to be considered for the full time, permanent position of Teacher Community Services (Aged Care). The role of the TAFE Teacher as a professional educator is to help, construct, guide and enhance the educative process. The teacher delivers educational programs and facilitates learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes. This position will be located at the Bankstown campus. ABOUT YOU You are passionate about sharing your extensive industry experience in Aged Care and Home Care Services. You have the ambition and drive to succeed and mentor students, passing on your experience and knowledge and you have demonstrated experience in delivering training in an adult learning environment. For full details about the role review the Position Description and the Information Package To be successful in this role you must have: Essential Requirements Recognised Degree or Diploma in any of the following areas; Nursing Hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or a Diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education Minimum of three years’ experience (postgraduate) in either a Residential and/or Community Aged Care environment where the skills and knowledge of your qualification have been applied, at least part of which is industry current Demonstrated experience teaching adults (highly desirable) Demonstrated experience working with people from different cultures Well-developed communication and negotiation skills Ability to contribute to a team environment APPLY NOW Your application for this role should include the following: Current Resume (PDF) Cover Letter addressing the Essential Requirements (PDF) (max. one page) Responses to the 2 targeted questions outlining your suitability (500 word limit) Certified copies of relevant Qualifications (PDF) Targeted Question 1: Please provide an example from your experience in the aged care sector where you’ve been faced with conflicting priorities and limited resources at work.
