The role: Caulfield Grammar School offers a vibrant and extensive Performing Arts programme of which Music is a key component. Within the classroom, students participate in a rich Kodaly-based curriculum. An extensive String and Instrumental programme is also offered. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Primary Music Teacher to join our team at our Malvern Junior School campus starting Term 1, 2024 on a part time, 12 month fixed term basis (0.9 FTE) with potential for permanency in 2025. As a key member of our highly motivated team of teachers, you will work in an innovative and supportive learning environment to inspire and engage students. In this role you will be required to deliver a comprehensive, Kodaly-based classroom programme, be well-organised and an active team member in the life of the Music Department. The successful applicant will be a member of a dynamic music team and in particular will; assist with the development and implementation of the music department curriculum for the Campus, be an exemplary teacher and mentor within the classroom and music program, be a dynamic and motivating director of high quality music performances, be involved in the School’s musical theatre programme, contribute to the development of the whole school music program and model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours Selection Criteria: Music (Teaching) Tertiary qualifications Hold a current VIT Registration High level of choral and keyboard skills Experience directing and leading ensembles to produce high-quality performances Knowledge and experience with the PYP curriculum framework (Desirable) Have a current First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis training, and Asthma training Why Caulfield Grammar School Our culture is defined by the five values: Pursuing Excellence, Inspiring Creativity, Thriving Together, Embracing Diversity, and Living Wholeheartedly.
