Sydney Catholic Early Childhood Services is seeking a Finance Officer - ( Employment services and accounting ) to join our head office team on a Permanent Part-time basis. The employment services and accounting role is based in our Leichhardt head office with the opportunity for flexible work arrangements. In employment services, this role will respond and provide guidance and advice to employees and management in payroll-related queries maintaining compliance with relevant statutory and award requirements and contributing to the preparation of the payroll. This role will also work with the recruitment team to on-board and off-board staff in a professional and effective manner. This role will also contribute to day-to-day transaction processing tasks (receipting, payables, end of month) as delegated and monitor compliance with accounting standards and relevant legislation. Qualifications Essential ● HSC or Equivalent ● Post-secondary experience in employment services and payroll ● Working with Children Check ● National Police Check (no older than 6 months from commencement date) Desirable ● Professional Association Membership or working towards Knowledge and Experience Essential ● Minimum 3 years in employment services or payroll accounting ● Strong commitment to the traditions and teachings of the Catholic faith ● Payroll and accounting system knowledge (SAP HCM, PHRIS, PeopleSoft, TechOne) ● Intermediate Excel and computer literacy (MS Office Suite, Google platform) ● Familiarity with National Employment Standards and Modern Awards frameworks ● Willingness to learn new systems and technology ● Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving and analytical skills ● Strong communication skills Desirable ● Minimum 2 years experience working with children/working in a school environment Sydney Catholic Early Childhood Services (SCECS) is a not-for-profit service catering for children and families from our Catholic schools and Parishes.
