australia melbourne contract au$140000.00 - au$160000 per annum super The Client & Role: We’re currently working with a well-established retail client who are looking for an Application Manager with a strong background and understanding of the Retail/FMCG industry. Initially offered as a 6-month initial FTC the role has a strong likelihood of conversion to a permanent ongoing position. As the Application Manager you will be supervising a team of IT professionals performing support of the organisation in respect to IT solutions as well as building and maintaining strong relationships with business partners, fostering collaboration and ensuring the IT department is seen as a valued business partner. Responsibilities: Act as the primary point of contact for business partners and stakeholders, understand their needs and identify opportunities to improve IT services Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of enhancements and updates to existing IT applications, ensuring they continue to meet organizational needs and quality standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into actionable development plans. Manage ongoing upgrades, patches, and retirements. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, promoting professional growth and development within the team. Set clear goals and performance expectations for team members and conduct regular performance evaluations. Work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement a strategic IT application roadmap aligned with organizational goals. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, making recommendations for adoption as appropriate. Ensure that IT applications are scalable, secure, and compliant with relevant regulations. Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors, ensuring the ongoing delivery of services and products. Develop and manage the Salvos IT budget, tracking expenditures and optimizing spend and resource allocation. Maintain security protocols and policies to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with data protection regulations. Identify and mitigate risks related to existing and new IT applications and infrastructure. Provide user support and training to staff members to ensure effective and efficient use of IT applications. Develop and maintain documentation and training materials. Required Skills & Specialisms: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s advantageous). Proven experience in IT application support and management, including at least 2 years in a leadership role. Strong history of working with retail applications. Excellent project management and organizational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
