We are reliable and cost effective, working hard to achieve successful outcomes for our clients by working with them in ways that create and deliver value.We are currently seeking a Mining Engineer to be based at our Whyalla SA Operations Project. The successful candidate will hold a mining engineering degree qualification or equivalent and be highly capable, possessing not only the required technical skills but also demonstrated ability in applying effective social process skills, including leadership and communication. With recently renewed contract extensions, Golding can offer a wide range of ongoing opportunities. We pride ourselves on rotating our Engineers to encourage exposure to different projects, clients, and experiences within Mining. This is a residential role operating on 8:6 roster which offers a unique opportunity to experience full production mining operations while still returning to your own home each night.Whyalla (dubbed the ‘Steel City’) is located on the Eyre Peninsula, a 4 hour drive from Adelaide, the capital of South Australia. It has an airport, public transport, public and private schools, a university, TAFE, sporting facilities, shopping precinct and an art centre to support a population of more than 21,000.Whyalla has that small city charm and boasts a generally warm climate. There is plenty to do and experience from the ocean to the outback.Key role tasks:Design drill and blast plans for safe and effective blasting;Develop daily and weekly mine plans to utilise all mining fleet efficiently while achieving mining targets;Regularly visit the mining areas and provide guidance on Mine Plan requirements where necessary;Involvement of pit progression from vegetation clearance to rehabilitation;Manage the High Precision GPS system ‘Wencolite’ for mining fleet;Strategize with the production team to optimise the Quarterly Mine Plan and look for improvements where possible;Assist with reports, schedules and plans in accordance with the site Production Plan and client Mine Plan requirements;Attend project management meetings;General administration duties for the project team.Key capability requirements: Tertiary mining Engineering qualification or equivalent essential;Minimum of 2 years’ experience in mining is essential;Strong commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement;Ability to work closely with Supervisors as part of a cohesive team and work to the plan;Ability to foster strong client relationships;Strong communication skills including verbal, written and interpersonal and the ability to interact and liaise with all levels including internal, external stakeholders and clients;Prioritisation and organisational skills including the ability to meet deadlines and delegate effectively;Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills;Advanced MS Office skills are essential;Full Australian Driver’s License is essential;Experience in Surpac or other mine planning software is advantageous.Golding Benefits:Relocation costs to the successful candidatePlease apply belowGolding is an equal opportunity employer
