(Permanent, Full-Time) Wenona is seeking a dynamic, experienced and passionate Gifted and Talented educator to join our outstanding Educational Support Services faculty and to inspire our young women through classroom practice, refined professional knowledge and a commitment to high performance. This is a permanent, full-time position commencing Term 3, 2023 or by negotiation. Key Priorities Plan and implement programs supporting gifted and talented students across K-6, including the development and planning of Individual Education Plans for all identified students A commitment to collaborative teaching practices with all staff K-6 An ability to contribute to the professional learning needs of all teachers K-6, in building capacity in staff to meet the unique needs of gifted and talented students Willingness to work with the Head of Educational Support Services, Head of Junior School and Dean of Academic Studies to develop our focus on the identification of and provision for gifted and talented students Ability to manage a complex case load of students, to ensure their in-class needs are met through careful planning and programming Willingness to develop opportunities beyond the curriculum to enrich and extend all students Experience in identifying, documenting, strategising for and tracking gifted and talented students Confidence in working in partnership with teachers to demonstrably differentiate the curriculum to meet the gifts and talents of identified students Ability to teach and aspire to the standards articulated in the Wenona Effective Teaching Cycle Strong knowledge of NESA curriculum, assessment and reporting practices including developments with Australian Curriculum implementation in NSW Demonstrated experience of innovative pedagogies including inquiry and the Primary Years Program A commitment to Pastoral Care and meeting the social and emotional wellbeing needs of students An ongoing commitment to professional learning, including making a contribution to the broader education community An understanding of and commitment to the educational needs of young women A willingness to contribute to the broader life of the school community An ability to use ICT to facilitate and enrich student learning and engagement beyond the classroom Wenona seeks to provide a child safe environment. General Conditions of the Role Award & Classification: Independent Schools NSW (Teacher’s) MEA 2021 Award. Hours of work: Permanent, Full-Time. Reporting Line: All positions report to the Principal. The line manager for this position is: Head of ESS. Professional Learning: You will be expected to attend and contribute to all staff professional development days and requirements as outlined in the School’s calendar. Other duties: In addition to teaching duties, the successful candidate will be required to participate in other areas of the School including playground duties, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and school camps. This role involves the application of discipline and participation in the School’s program for pastoral care. Some of the duties will need to be performed at times outside the normal classroom teaching hours including weekends. Parking: There is no car parking provision for this role.
