We're looking to grow our teams in each area.We have plans to expand our existing team of 120 talented individuals across the East Coast of Australia and are in search for experienced, agile engineers to join us in this exciting growth phase.Role SummaryAtkinsRéalis' Engineering Design business provides multidisciplinary engineering services and integrated solutions across a wide range of projects and markets. We are seeking experienced Design Drafters with expertise in High Voltage Installations - Primary or Secondary systems (up to 500kV) to assist in the growth of the T&D team in Australia. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Autodesk packages. Primary SystemsExperience in AIS, GIS and indoor substations and control room design, bus-bar configurations/layouts, preparing cables, conductors, clamp and connector schedules is essential. Apply advanced 3D modelling techniques to create substation models ensuring compliance with design and safety standards.Secondary SystemsExperience in protection and control schematics, cable schedules and wiring diagrams. Familiarity with relays, SCADA and control equipment including panels layout design is essential. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Working closely with a team of design engineers and supporting our multi-disciplinary design and project management teams.Work collaboratively with engineers to address design changes and incorporate revisions into existing drawings.Taking ownership of preparing and delivering accurate and precise design drawings in accordance with client specific/Australian design standardsMaintain organised and up-to-date documentation, ensuring that all drawings and diagrams are properly catalogued and archived.Assist in quality control checks to verify integrity of the design.Developing and maintaining internal relationships to support project delivery.Collaborate closely with internal and external stake holders (if required) to define project goals, establish budgets and develop project schedules.Provide support and mentorship to less experienced drafters as needed.Participate actively in design reviews, risk assessments and quality control processes to ensure design excellence.Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in design drafting.Desired Skills, Experience and Capabilities Proven experience in the design drafting of transmission and distribution, with an expertise in either primary or secondary systems.Excellent interpersonal and technical skills with the ability to develop and lead design teams and develop strong client relationshipsExperience working in digital engineering environments and delivering to local technical standards and guidelinesThe ability to adapt to client specific drafting standards while maintaining design quality and consistency as well as familiarity with Bentley software such as MicroStation will be well regarded.Vocational Qualifications in electrical drafting, drafting design, electrical engineering or an equivalentADDITIONAL INFORMATIONWe are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community - a place where we can all be ourselves, thrive and develop.
