Our client is adding an Assistant Accountant to their team as a result of rapid growth and the role will work closely with the Senior Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone starting their career in finance, or someone looking to return to the workforce. Client Details Our client is a well-established business supplying electricity and gas to residential properties across the globe, offering a greener and simpler solution to customers. They have a global presence, with their Australian headquarters based right here in Melbourne. Description Reporting into the Senior Accountant, responsibilities include: Oversee AP/AR as required and address supplier queries and relationship management & ensure data is entered correctly and in a timely manner. Fixed asset maintenance. Bank & balance sheet reconciliations. Payments - wholesale settlements and network payments. Payments - invoices & refunds. Liaise with the CS team for chargebacks and refund bounce backs. Actual vs Budget analysis of overhead invoices. Payroll tax lodgment (monthly). BAS lodgment and payment. Budget - assist with updating OPEX budget items. Month End Journals - accruals & prepayments. Assist with finance projects. Assist CFO & Senior Accountant with streamlining and innovating any accounting processes. Profile The successful candidate is an excellent communicator and has proven experience building relationships with their colleagues as well as external stakeholders. They also have strong commercial awareness and business acumen and not deterred to do the routine tasks fast and efficiently to get to the exciting 'value add' analysis. They also have: A degree-level qualification in a relevant subject (i.e. Finance, Accounting, Business). Intention to commence CA/CPA or studying towards. Experience in an accounting position or internship post-qualification. Working/operational knowledge of XERO financial systems.
