The General Medicine service at the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is committed to providing outstanding patient care. In 2023 we are introducing a new, contemporary model for Allied Health in General Medicine to redefine care for our patients and the experience of our highly regarded team across 7 days. A significant growth in dedicated staffing will support service enhancement and deliver a career structure to develop specialist clinical, research, education and leadership skills for Allied Health working in General Medicine. We are looking for new Allied Health professionals to join our highly experienced and skilled team in delivering this new 7-day Allied Health service. We need dynamic Senior Clinicians, passionate clinician-researchers, junior staff who want to develop in an inspiring environment and clinicians who want to make a difference in our General Medicine Units every day. There has never been a better time to join us Your new role: Lead a culture of excellence in patient care in the expanded general medicine team, and the social work department. Provide clinical leadership in social work and complex care. You will be well supported by the Social Work Leaders (Grades 3 and 4), Social Work and Diversity Manager, and the Social Work team. Work collaboratively with key stakeholders (both internal and external to the organisation) and provide representation on relevant committees. About you: A qualified Social Worker (eligible for membership of the AASW) Relevant postgraduate qualifications (or working towards its imminent completion - minimum of master’s degree) Demonstrate advanced Social Work skills in the acute hospital environment You have exceptional communication skills and experience in leading effective working relationships within interdisciplinary teams You have strong supervisory skills and a passion for fostering staff development You have strong project management skills You have an understanding of wider organisational and public health policy influences on public hospital services Benefit of working with The Royal Melbourne Hospital: Be part of a diverse and progressive Allied Health team, including the LGBTIQA patient liaison team, family safety team, and disability liaison service.
