Role Details: Reporting to the Senior Engineer: Mine Planning at Agnew, you will be responsible for facilitating the safe and optimal extraction of gold from underground mining operations. In compliance with site environmental and safety standards, you will be responsible for all mining aspects, including delivering detailed mine plans and designs required to meet short, medium and long term mine plan. The incumbent, with several years in underground operations, is experienced with most aspects of underground mining such as Drill & Blast, Load & Haul, Mine Ventilation and Mine Services to the point where they can guide junior professionals in their development journey. This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth. Benefits include: 6% Site Allowance & Private Health Insurance Allowance Quarterly Bonus Scheme Increased annual leave entitlements Employee Assistance Program Long service leave pro rata after 5 years of continuous service Educational assistance About the role: Assist in preparation of medium- and long-term plans and forecasts; Prepare underground design optimisation, level and stope designs, and level extraction notes; Ensure mine plans are completed considering ventilation, infrastructure and pastefill requirements; Prepare the 3-month rolling schedule and report on end-of-month compliance to plan; Assist in briefing production personnel on new stopes being developed and liaise with Supervisors; Maintain medium-term plan in the final design stage, and long term plan in the preliminary design stage in Deswik; Liaise with the Production Engineers for short term schedule implementation; Direct and lead all members of the technical and operational mining team and ensure goal unity through concise communication. About you: You will have a tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline Ability to obtain WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency Proven underground engineering experience, with exposure to all production phases, preferably gold Experience in mentoring and developing the capability of junior and graduate engineers Microsoft office, Deswik CAD experience is an advantage Exposure to Deswik Scheduler and Ventsim is desirable Current WA Dangerous Goods Card Valid manual WA Driver's Licence Applications can be submitted via: https://careers.goldfields.com/Australia Gold Fields is committed to achieving an inclusive workforce.
