Job Description About the Opportunity The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for providing mechanical designs that support the product development and product support goals of the organisation. The role requires mechanical engineering technical knowledge and the understanding of the mechanical design in conjunction with software design, electronics design and systems engineering disciplines. The Mechanical Design Engineer undertakes design and engineering analysis tasks. Key duties include: Produce mechanical designs that satisfy defined requirements in the specified periods. Undertake mechanical design analyses in support of product development activities. Work with systems engineers to ensure that all requirements are identified, captured and analysed such that design can be developed that satisfy the requirements. Undertake test and evaluation activities on mechanical and system designs to verify and sign-off of all design requirements. Work with other engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive and complete system designs. Prepare and review all documentation required to support designs. Desired Skills and Experience About You You will be a detail oriented problem solver and can work collaboratively with others. You demonstrate sound pragmatism and judgement and deep technical knowledge. You will ideally have: Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering. Post graduate qualifications in Engineering highly desirable. Experience in a similar role. Experience in Defence sector desirable.
